Rock at the Scenic World in the Blue Mountains
Standing over 100m tall this stunning rock sits next to the Scenic Railway at the Scenic World. It used to be able to be walked on, however, recent faultlines made this rock to dangerous to be walked on or abseiled on anymore.
It is a unique and special rock and you will be able to travel right past it on our Blue Mountains day tours. This rock got its name as it was all alone and is clearly alone from its unique positioning. Compared to the Three Sisters which have 3 unique rock formations and even used to be 7 formations many hundreds of years ago, this is just one large rock all by itself and that is why it got the name the Orphan rock.
A very beautiful and underrated sandstone rock of the Blue Mountains. Thanks to its outstanding natural beauty and its historical and cultural significance, now you can be sure there is a lot what to do in the Blue Mountains.
